As part of my DIY ToyCraft series, Kits are fabulous.
I discovered TinkerCrate on Instagram and immediately ordered this for myself. Arriving monthly, this is subscription box delivers a “laboratory of hands-on STEM learning.” I ordered the box tailored for users aged 9 – 16+, which seems pretty broad for a user base.
My TinkerCrate arrived in a rectangular box, maker materials, and the “Blueprint” instruction booklet. I’m thrilled by the simplicity of these illustrated instructions and that there’s also an available video lesson on youtube. The objective of the November box was to create a Spin Art Machine using the simple materials provided. There’s a teeny breadboard, battery-powered circuit, motor, balsa wood for structure, and of course paints.
