I saw this delightful gif of a paper tiger toy, in the Reddit category, “Interesting As Fuck,” and that’s exactly what it is. This is a Feudal era Japan toy. It’s magically simple, kinetic, and paper, and dances from the air of a fan.
Incorporating this idea-total simplicity of kinetic sculpture- with simple electronic circuits, paper craft, and outside forces (air or laser pulses), would be an interesting *as fuck* integration? I’m thinking about (albeit, way more complicated) Arthur Ganson’s Gestural sculptures and the foldable puzzles from paper used during the Civil War era Valentines…What if….
Actually, I apologize, WordPress doesn’t support embedded iFrame videos, so you’ll have to peek at the critter on Reddit or Gfycat.
